Are your plans at the end of life to be cremated?
If so plan ahead. Being in the cremation urn business we have so many families talk to us about purchasing a cremation urn for their mother, father, brother, sister, aunt, etc… because they have had their ashes in the cardboard box that they came in, from the crematory, because at the time, they either did not purchase an urn, either because they did not have the money too, or they say they just didn’t have the time.
Do you want your family to keep your ashes stored away in a cardboard box after you are cremated? No, I don’t either.
I hear this so often where they have had the cardboard box for years and they are just now taking the time to purchase a cremation urn because they are feeling guilty about still having their family members ashes in the cardboard box for so many years.
So if I were you, I would see that this is taken care of in advance. I would purchase a cremation urn long before I may die, or you may consider buying several small keepsake urns so that your family members can divide your ashes amongst themselves and they can each have a part of you with them for the rest of their lives.
There are so many beautiful urns on the market today, large and small. And if you decide to go with a wooden urn, there are urns made of wood that are so pretty they look like a real work of art. So sitting them on a shelf or bedroom dresser not only reminds them of you every day, but it is also a beautiful piece of wood art they have that makes a nice piece of home decor for any room in the home.
So if you do not want to be stored in a cardboard box for years to come, after the end of your life, maybe you should consider purchasing an urn in advance. And make sure that family members know where you are storing the urn so that when something does happen to you, someone knows you already have your resting place chosen.
One really nice advantage to this is that "YOU" get to choose your final resting place. You can choose an urn that suits you.
Ashes2Urns Inc of Ocala, Florida is a husband and wife team of wood artists who make some really beautiful wood urns. They make many shapes and sizes, including bottle, vase, and football shaped urns. And they offer them in many types of wood. Plus customization is also an option on their urns. Their cremation urns are sold to everyone at wholesale prices. It beats buying an expensive urn from a funeral home.
